POTUS tells players to stand but refuses to see that kneeling is their stance.

This is one of this week's biggest controversies from Trump and The White House. Before continuing with this blog post please watch the video above when Trump is calling the NFL players who kneel during the national anthem "sons of b*tches" and that the NFL owners should kick them out and fire them. This situation occurred at a rally in Alabama for Luther Strange. Now, this created an uproar from everyone but for different reasons. A clip from Fox News by Karl Rove explained that President Trump went about the situation the wrong way. He said that he believed that Trump should have addressed it in a better light and talk to people about it. Karl agreed that taking a knee during the National Anthem is disrespectful but he understands that these activists want change but they to go about it in the "right way." This right way is to stand for the flag and acknowledge those that have come before you and acknowledge what you are trying to do but stand for the flag. The CNN reporter goes on to say that she agrees and that Trump should have said what Karl said. They agreed that President Trump is impulsive. Now in comparison to CNN, this is night and day. This report was more about facts about the comments then opinions basically reiterating what was said in the video above. Also discussed was how the NBA players felt about the issue. Lebron James called Trump a bum. While Steph Curry officially decided not to visit the White House. This led to Trump to "withdrawal" his invitation. Going back to the original issue Mike Allen said in response to Trump: "To address a largely white crowd as 'people like yourselves,' and refer to protesting athletes, often African American, as 'those people,' does nothing to heal the wounds of Charlottesville." This makes me think about the bigger issue at large. Donald Trump continuously shows his true colors about race even though he continues to say that this NFL issue is not about race. This situation created a divided mass between people and no one is listening to the other side. This situation either makes people dislike Trump more or makes people like him more. This nation is more divided then it is together and President Trump has not done anything to unite this nation.

  1. I completely agree that Trump has done absolutely nothing to unite this nation. In fact, many things that he has done and said divide the nation further. He obviously completely misses the point of the kneel. He is a horrible and laughable example of a president. It seems that every time he opens his mouth something outrageous comes out. No citizen should be forbid to express their opinion.

  2. I agree that there has been nothing about this presidency that has worked to unite this country. It seems like everyday he tweets something else that starts an issue. I agree that it is sad and distasteful for him to represent our country in this way good post.
